Providing you direct your passes you can get the ball to anyone. Willynilly passing will inevitably be intercepted.
Pass the ball don't throw it. However directing passes is a team effort.
If your team mates are in their court positions (they should always be drifting/falling back after a passage of play), they can then run onto the next pass.
This way you are not looking for a player covered by their opponent, which inevitably means the ball will be intercepted. You are passing to a team mate who is leading/running forward from their court position away from their opponent.
Two players should be presenting for the ball at the same time and all you need do is direct the pass to the best positioned player at the time.
From there you lead for a possible pass, again and again, until the shooters have the ball in the 'D'.
