Batting the ball?

If you can bat the ball you can catch it!

Batting the ball on to a player risks the ball being intercepted. Catch it and throw the ball for control and direction. 

Defenders should avoid intentionally batting the ball out of bounds, as all this does is give the play to the opposition.

Netball is about possession!
